EMPLOYERS Q: Why should I use the CareerTrip Job Board?
A: The CareerTrip board is the result of the success of our search and HR services business. It builds on the strengths developed over 20 years within these focus industries. The new job board makes it easier and more cost effective for members to post openings and to search our database of resumes.
Many of the best candidates aren’t drawn to the large boards. These prime candidates are reading ads on job boards focused on their skills, industry or function. These candidates are looking at jobs posted on focused regional sites and niche industry portals like the CareerTrip site.
Q: How many job positions can I post?
A: Members may post as many jobs as they like. Please do not post anything besides job descriptions, such as other commercial opportunities.
Q: How much does this cost?
A: During our introduction period A single job postings
is only $150 you can save even more by buying multiple jobs. There is annual cost to members when searching resumes. Certain other optional services also
will require a fee.
Q: How long will my job(s) remain posted on the site?
A: Jobs remain posted for 90 days. If the position remains open after this 60-day period, you may renew the position.
Q: Can I post a link to my company's website?
A: You will have a company profile page on CareerTrip and we definitely encourage employers to link directly back to there site. This is a very effective way of offering interested candidates information about your company.

Q: Is there any charge for using CareerTrip?
A: There is never a charge for job seekers using most of the normal services. We will introduce some items over time that may require a small fee but those will be optional services. Our goal is to help you make that next career connection as easily as possible.
Q: How can I get the most relevant search results for the type
of Job I'm looking for?
A: The Job Titles that match are determined by the Keywords you entered. When choosing Keywords, you want to use the most commonly used terms in your field and combine them with Keywords that describe your Job Title. Example: You are looking for Department Store Manager, a Keyword of manager returns Jobs with the word manager in the Title or Description, including Descriptions like this job reports to the HR Manager. To narrow your search to specific Job Titles, try using quotation marks around your Keywords to keep words from being split up. Example: Department Store Manager or Retail Store Manager.
We also provide recommended Job Titles for every search where Keywords are entered. Click a Job Title that matches the type of Job you are looking for. If looking to work in a specific town or area, try typing the name of the town or city as a Keyword and select the closest Location listed in the Choose Location box.
Q: What happens when I Apply Online?
A: When you apply Online, the employer receives your Resume and Cover Letter (optional) via email. They can also access it at any time from their Manage Resumes folder within their CareerTrip account. All Applications you send using Apply Online are stored in your account on the MyCareerTrip page. the MyCareerTrip page does not track applications you make via email, mail, or fax.
Q: What can I do if I've forgotten my Username and/or Password
or if I've switched email addresses?
A: Please contact us with the following information: your previous email address (if applicable), street address, city, state, country, zip code and phone number. Once we verify your information, we will email your Username and Password to your current email address.
Q: How can I see the Jobs I have applied to?
A: Your Applications can be viewed by logging into your account and clicking on My Job Applications.
Q: How do I update my email address or change my password?
A: You need to log into your account and click Edit my Account. Make any changes required, enter your password at the bottom of the page to confirm the changes, and then click Submit.
Q: How do I save my Job Search as a Search Agent?
A: When you do a Job Search, you can save that specific search as an Agent if you are already logged in. From the Search Results page, just click the Save this search link. You can then configure your Agent and how often you would like to receive emails with matching Jobs. If you are not logged in, when you click Save this search you will be taken to the Create Account/Login page, where you will have to follow the on-screen instructions.
Q: Can I see which employers have viewed my Resume and how
many times they've viewed it?
A: The Resume Views counter keeps a tally of the number of times your Resume has been viewed by employers who pulled your Resume from the database. If you Apply Online to a Job Posting, the employer receives your Resume in an email and this does not count towards your Resume Views. We do not track who has seen your Resume, and you will only know that an employer has seen your Resume if they contact you.
Q: Can I send Employers the link to view my resume on CareerTrip?
A: Links are unique to each authorized users session; you can use the Send to a Friend function or give them your name and CareerTrip web address. Employers will need a valid CareerTrip account to view resumes.
Q: How do I copy and paste text such as my resume?
A: Follow these steps:
- Selecting: Click and drag your mouse cursor over the text or link that you wish to copy.
- Copying: With the text now selected, press the CTRL key (CMD key for Macs) and press C.
- Pasting: Click the mouse on the place where you wish to paste the information, and press CTRL + V (CMD + V for Macs).
